We helped our client move from uncertainty to action on their net-zero ambitions by first building a robust Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions baseline across Scopes 1 and 2 activities.
Using this foundation, we co-created a credible net-zero strategy, set practical yet ambitious targets, and supported implementation of energy-reduction measures such as on-site solar and efficiency improvements. By tracking progress year-on-year and guiding them throughout, our client achieved net-zero for their Scope 1 and 2 emissions in 2024, strengthened internal understanding of GHG reporting, and built meaningful engagement across their organisation.

The challenge
Service Express Europe wanted to commit to net-zero but didn’t have the full picture of their current impact or how to get there. They needed to first measure their GHG emissions accurately, then create clear, credible targets, all while showing real progress to their stakeholders. At the outset, they weren’t sure what kind of targets to set, or which recognised standards to align with, and felt unsure how to turn ambition into a practical, achievable pathway.
What we did
We started by building a robust baseline, gathering data across all relevant GHG Scope 1, scope 2, and a subset of Scope 3 activities, following the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard. From there, we e identified reduction opportunities and co-created a clear net-zero strategy: setting ambitious yet achievable targets for Scope 1 and 2 and outlining their pathway to get there. We supported implementation of energy reduction opportunities, for example installing on-site solar PV and improving energy efficiency. As projects rolled out, we tracked their emissions year-on-year, provided ongoing guidance, and celebrated milestones along the way.
How it helped
Our client moved from uncertainty to achievement: they understood their direct emissions, had a credible plan in place, and steadily delivered real energy and GHG emissions reductions until they reached net-zero for their Scope 1 and 2 emissions in 2024. The journey helped them understand the topic of GHG emissions reporting and the meaning of net-zero, so they are now in a strong position to start understanding their Scope 3 emissions. Along the way, they were able to engage and share their journey across the organisation, raising awareness and building commitment among their stakeholders. With a clear line of sight from actions to outcomes, the whole process became less daunting and more empowering.
