Journey to Net-Zero
A practical, focused energy strategy.
Supporting Metallink Fluid Power Systems with their On-Site Energy & Carbon Opportunities Review.
Alongside exploring their potential for on-site solar PV, Metallink wanted a broader understanding of how to reduce energy use, cut emissions, and lower operational costs across their manufacturing facility.
To support this, we carried out a comprehensive On-Site Energy & Carbon Opportunities Review to pinpoint where energy was being used, where waste was occurring, and where meaningful improvements could be made.

The challenge
Metallink’s manufacturing processes are energy-intensive and run continuously, meaning any efficiency improvements needed to be both practical and non-disruptive. The team were looking for a clear, evidence-based roadmap that aligned efficiency gains with their wider decarbonisation ambitions.
What we did
We undertook a detailed on-site review, observing real operational conditions and speaking with the team to understand how equipment, buildings, and processes were used day to day.
Our assessment included:
- Identifying inefficiencies and hidden areas of energy waste
- Assessing equipment performance and operational behaviours
- Highlighting opportunities that offered strong returns with minimal disruption
- Quantifying the carbon and cost savings for each recommended action
We then prioritised the opportunities based on impact, feasibility, and alignment with Metallink’s long-term strategy.
How it helped
The review revealed a range of actionable steps to reduce consumption, lower emissions, and improve operational efficiency. When combined with the now-installed and generating solar PV system, Metallink now has a cohesive energy strategy that supports immediate savings while building towards long-term sustainability goals.
