Wind turbines work on a simple notion: instead of using electricity to make wind—like a fan—wind turbines use wind to make electricity. Wind turns the propeller-like blades of a turbine around a rotor, which spins a generator, which creates electricity.
We are never going to run out of wind! It is also available pretty much everywhere.
Wind turbines do not emit CO2 emissions and in using more wind turbines and less fossil fuels to generate energy, we can lower our carbon footprints and reduce global warming.
Many jobs can be created in the installation and maintenance of wind turbines. Farmers can earn money to lease the land the wind turbines will be built on and the community can benefit from lower electricity rates too.
